For this project, I worked with two other individuals, Makala Moses and Kennedy Stephens. We were to think of world problems and create a project based off of it. Our problem that we came up with was "involuntary isolation" and it's based off of the idea that people are isolated based on the fact they are different and everybody around them follows the crowd and doesn't interact with the "different" people. The main part of the project I did were the see-through sheets of paper. I used three sheets (one pictured) and I traced the bottom layer to create the same mall throughout each sheet. After that, I splattered bright colors onto the sheets and let them dry. Next, I took magazine clippings of different people and placed them strategically throughout the sheets to create dimensions and scales to make it look more realistic. The last part I did was creating text messages. The messages were actually thoughts in people's heads. They said "I think I should sit next to the person alone by the fountain" and then, the person also thought "Someone else will". That same message was put in the project to represent other people thinking the same thing so nobody would actually ever sit with the person. This is because they all assumed someone else will.
